The family is then responsible for any leftover balance of the rent, after the voucher program\u2019s subsidy is deducted.<\/p>\n

Each housing voucher is administered by the PHA based on the total annual gross income and family size, with limitations to only US citizens and certain categories of non-citizens.<\/p>\n

In order to qualify, the family\u2019s income can\u2019t be over 50% of the average income for the county or city area where the family decides to live.<\/p>\n
